The concept of toothbrushes came about thousands of years ago and they have evolved just as much as Madonna since their inception.

Meet the Electric Toothbrush.

The electronic toothbrush was invented in Switzerland in 1954.  While electric toothbrushes are fun, easy to use, and have cool features like timers and pressure sensors, it has not been proven they are any better than a manual toothbrush.

Meet the Manual Toothbrush.

Manual toothbrushes are the McDonald’s of toothbrushes.  Everyone knows what one is, but some people are too fancy to use one.  It’s a taste thing.  However, not every manual toothbrush is alike.  They come in different bristle types and hundreds of colors and designs, which enables you to say, “Hey, I like clean teeth and the color purple,” without saying anything at all.

Meet the Battery Powered Toothbrush.

If the manual toothbrush was a phone, it would be a flip phone, whereas the battery powered toothbrush would be its smartphone counterpart.  While similar to the manual toothbrush, the battery powered bristles spin automatically.  This toothbrush was a 90’s sensation but has been overpowered by the electric toothbrush.

Meet the Chewable Toothbrush.

The style blew my mind.  I had never heard of this, but allow me to introduce you to the chewable toothbrush, which is made of rubber or plastic with attached bristles.  You pop one in your mouth and chew it like a piece of gum for a few minutes and then throw it away.  Now, that I know about these I think they would be awesome for camping!

You have officially been informed about various types of toothbrushes, so which type is right for you?
